Governors Message

Brothers, greetings;
I am proud to report the 2018-19 season was successful. Early-on we raised $6,200 for the victims of hurricanes Harvey and Irma to help our hard hit brothers and their families.  Our district raised $15,121.00 to purchase “Hoosier”, a dog to help a deserving wounded warrior!  The check was presented during the Supreme Convention in Atlantic City.

 PDG Sam Benjamin and I traveled to Illinois on July 20th and presented a $500 check to Chicago Honor Flight Program, that takes veterans to Washington, DC. This is a very worthwhile effort and I hope it continues.
 You have heard of the devastating fires in Greece last July. AHEPA is actively raising funds to help the victims and has already raised over $100,000 so far. This was a tragic event that took the lives of almost 100 people, many of them children.

I am kindly and respectfully requesting that our chapters donate towards this worthy cause. Every donation, no matter how big or how small, is welcomed and greatly appreciated. Individuals can also donate. The account is tax-exempt. I will provide the account to all the chapters.

 Last, but not least, we need to address the membership issue. AHEPA is a grass-roots organization and new members are the lifeblood of every organization, including ours. New members add enthusiasm, excitement and energy to chapters and districts, and bring new ideas and new ways of approaching activities and creating new events. Let’s try to recruit new members! Invite 1 is the theme for the 2018-19 season!
Thank you, Brothers, for your help!
Fraternally and sincerely,

Panos Niarchos
